Boston and Back Again: Welcoming Mrs. Wolff to RSHS
By Aidan H.
Being a secretary is a job that not many people are fit for. However, a new addition to Roland-Story, Mrs. Wolff is the ideal candidate. Mrs. Wolff landed a job as an administrative assistant two months ago through an in-person interview and an online application. She is currently still in the day-to-day learning process at Roland-Story High School. Her job consists of writing passes for students, taking attendance, ordering teachers' supplies and requests, and socializing with students and staff to create an overall positive atmosphere in the RSHS office.
Mrs. Wolff grew up in Emmetsburg with her parents, Janice and Dennis Quinn, and her two sisters. She attended Emmetsburg High School and graduated in 1993. School never appealed to her, so she took the work path straight out of high school as opposed to the college path. She moved to Boston at the age of 17 where her now husband Todd moved out to join her later. She worked as a full-time nanny for ten years while living in Boston.
She’s always had a special place in her heart for kids and teenagers. Mrs. Wolff and her husband had two kids in Boston; Mallory age 19, and Rylee age 16. Shortly after Rylee was born, the four moved back to Iowa to buy a home. They landed in Story City, where they currently live. Since moving back to Iowa, Mrs. Wolff has worked in a nursing home for 12 years, at an insurance office, part-time at a boutique, and served food as a lunch lady at Roland-Story Middle School for two years. She is very family-oriented, so she enjoys spending time with her girls and having the same school schedule as her youngest daughter, Rylee. She celebrates her birthday on October 19th.
Some of Mrs. Wolff’s hobbies include camping in the summer and fall with her family and three dogs. As well as go on motorcycle rides with her husband Todd when the weather permits. Mrs. Wolff has always loved decorating and is a very crafty person. “One of my favorite sports is professional baseball,” Mrs. Wolff said. If you ever see her in the office or the halls, please give her a big Roland-Story welcome.
