Roland-Story at Forest City Wrestling Tournament

By Justin S. It was a normal winter morning on January 11, 2025. The Wrestlers are ready for the tournament, though some are tired. They had a great meet on January 9th at South Hamilton. Head Coach Heston Johnson readied the Varsity the day before. They all boarded the vans at 5:30 A.m., and some vans headed to Forest City. Before The Wrestlers left, Caden Latch a wrestler gave a pep talk.  "Let's kick some people. We got it." When we arrived at Forest City, some of the Wrestlers were overweight. We arrived 15 minutes before weigh-in.  7:30 A.m. All the wrestlers make weight. They had a nice breakfast thanks to parents who volunteered to bring food. Only one manager came. The start of the tournament was slow, then it quickly went when they now used three mats. Some wrestlers lost. Some had no losses. Some had only one loss. Caden Latch got 2nd, Isaac Hall got 4th,  Konor Blume got 6th, Gracien Lenin 6th, Roman Scotts got 4th, Noah Nealy got 6th, and Wes Hansen got 2nd. S...

FFA and FCCLA Holiday Party

By Alexis R. FFA and FCCLA came together January 17th to celebrate the holidays together. The party was supposed to take place back in December, but ended up being postponed due to harsh weather. Luckily, we were still able to find a time to get together and celebrate! The party took place at Story City’s Carousel Lanes bowling alley. Everyone was provided with pizza and a couple hours of bowling. We had to attribute five dollars to attend;  this was just to help balance the cost of the dozens of pizzas.  After everyone was done eating, we split up into different groups to bowl on each lane. After a little bowling, we were all told to grab a gift bag, containing very random, but very fun, objects. People ended up with all sorts of things such as: floss, holiday accessories, wacky candies, and even ketchup! Overall, the party was a success! Everyone had a really great time together. We all got to relax and bowl, while catching up with each other and enjoying the holidays, even ...
