Des Moines Christian Snaps Roland-Story's Streak in Defensive Battle

On Friday September 5th, Roland-Story Norseman faced off against Des Moines Christian. The Norse coming in off a strong and dominant win against Pella Christian, meanwhile Des Moines Christian also coming in off a win over #2 Van Meter. Des Moines Christian line is way bigger than the Norse but the Norse have the leverage play and they are strong and gritty and are determined to keep there 2 year win streak against DMC going. The first quarter goes by and the score is 0-0 both defenses giving not an inch. The Norse were real close to scoring but through a pick inside the 10 yard line. Through out the second quarter it’s still 0-0 but at the end of the half with 10 seconds DMC drives down the field and scores a touchdown in the final seconds and goes 7-0 going into changing the momentum of the game.
Coming out of the half the Norse receive the kick but can’t get any points on the board throughout the third quarter but neither can DMC. Going into the fourth quarter the score is still 7-0 DMC. Halfway through the 4th DMC scores another touchdown by causing a turnover the Norses 3rd of the game. Now DMC goes up by 14. The Norse get stopped again and DMC causes another turnover on downs. And milk the clock and score again to go up 21-0. The Norse finally get on the same page and with a pass to Aiden Frey from Colin willis the Norse finally get on the board making the sore 21-7. Then on DMC’s next drive they score on the first play on a 68 yard touchdown making the score 28-7. The Norse try to keep battling but they end up throwing there 4th int of the game. DMC knees it down and beats the Norse in there home opener. The Norse travel to play West Marshall next week to try and regain some confidence.
